Gas-generators

Converting syngas into electricity.

SophSys gas generator waste2energy

When processing various types of waste such as Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and RDF via Chemical recycling, the outcome product is gas.
This gas is known as Syn-Gas and is the result of the heating/processing of waste materials. As the origin of the gas is waste, the general composition of the (syn)gas is inconsistent and can vary a lot during the process.

In general, combustion (gas)engines are not very favourable to inconsistencies in the supplied gas composition, often resulting in engine failure.

Manufacturers guarantee.

SophSys has a strong partnership with a Dutch engine manufacturer that specializes in (gas)combustion engines that operate on inconsistent and fluctuating gas compositions.
By modifying the pistons and the valve timing, our engine provider is able to provide engine manufacturing guarantees where other manufacturers simply refuse to provide these guarantees.

Exotic and flexible fuel combinations.

Alongside the syngas engines with the unique manufacturers guarantee, our engine provider has also developed a 100% Hydrogen operated generator units and landfill-gas operated generator units, enabling us to supply our customers with an extended range of engine models operating on exotic fuel types.

The engine type range.

Based on the needs of the client, SophSys and the engine manufacturer select the best available engine setting for the project.
All provided generator units are containerized, sound proof, Turn-Key and can be maintained by a standard educated (car mechanic) operator.

Within the SophSys range of engine types are the following types:

  • SynGas operated generators for chemical recycling applications.
  • 100% Hydrogen powered generators (100% emission free).
  • Landfill-gas generators (for converting landfill gases into electricity).
  • Diesel generators (for emergency and back-up power supply).

100% emission free (The Art of the Possible).

In specific cases, emissions could pose an issue for a project.
SophSys has a partnership with the Dutch specialist company Proton.

Proton is the owner and developer of the advanced Proton Clean Air Technology, an air filtration system that filters the exhaust air up to 1 nanometre.

With an added CO2 compression system, the Proton Clean Air Technology is able to filter out all harmful components and even remove bad smell from the exhaust systems, rendering the generator units certified emission free and eligible to be deployed in every environment, even nature reserves.

The Proton Clean Air Technology has been actively tested at Amsterdam Airport and various other locations.
